Easy way to measure your output in pounds per hour: Simply take a sample for 36 seconds, weigh it, and multiply by 100

Determining Screw Wear: Take a known resin and run it at 3 speeds, measuring the throughput and motor load. Repeat this every six months. Over time, you’ll notice a drop in the output. Once it drops below 10%, its time to rebuild or replace your screw.

Use a fractional melt, high density polyethylene (HDPE) as a good, general purpose, purging compound. It doesn’t stick to the metal, so it can be easily removed with an air nozzle.
